Our 2025 UK and Europe Trip Itinerary
Our Grand European Adventure (mid-April to late June 2025) carried us from the tranquil hills of Woodside across the globe to the historic streets, iconic railways, and untamed landscapes of the UK and Europe.
The journey began on 15 April 2025 with flights from Adelaide to London via Melbourne and Hong Kong. In England, we were warmly hosted by Lesley’s cousins, Frances and Peter. We spent our first days exploring London, reconnecting with family, and road-tripping through the charming Isle of Wight. Next, we boarded the Eurostar to join a guided Insight Vacations coach tour through Europe's cultural and architectural highlights.
Though we had high hopes for our subsequent European river cruise, low river waters ultimately forced a cancellation. Undeterred, we pivoted to the open road for a magnificent, impromptu road trip through Scotland, trading river views for dramatic highlands and historic castles.
For our final chapter, we returned to France with Frances and Peter to immerse ourselves in Paris. Day trips out to the opulent Palace of Versailles and the vibrant, historic landscapes of Monet's gardens in Giverny made for an unforgettable finale. Leaving Paris behind, we flew home to Adelaide with a lifetime of beautiful memories.
